Hi,
We kept our last yacht in Palma over winter 2005/6 and spent a reasonable amount of time there. Even back then it was not the cheapest spot to choose but we found reasonable value space at Marina Alboran - one of the smaller charter base marinas on the Paseo Maritimo. From memory around 900 euros per month for a 14 metre and that was with a much better exchange rate that one gets today.
We found it a great winter location - lots to do in a pretty cosmopolitan city - and regular low cost fares to there and back.
Enjoy

Had 10 great years "commuting" then 4 winters liveaboard, superb place. expensive though.
try pier46 at the end of the paseo, they were by far the cheapest. but no facilities.
Club Nautico 2 years ago was 800e month for 12m, Portals was 19,000e per annum for 12 m,
others were pretty much the same. Try further out at Cala Gamba, cheaper but under the runway and portinax, further out and a bit dismal.
Santa Ponsa was ok, bit swelly in bad weather, they were extending El Toro when we left.
Bit out of touch after being away from the place for 2years but i'll guarantee it ain't any cheaper recesion or not.

Good Luck
I wish we could afford to move back there.
Regards
R

I would NOT recommend Porto Andraixt not over winter.

I dont live aboard but my apartment overlooks the marina Santa Ponsa. See the boat from my terrace. Much cheaper rates in winter than summer; Euros 700/mo winter rate.. (Pegasus is 14 meters)

You should consider Port Adriano: the area has been built up as a "superyacht" port but they are under utilized at the moment. Will eventually be very nice as it is a Starck design ... definitely not there yet.

Perhaps Port Adriano would give you a good price for the winter. But then, you need transportation to Palma: busses are frequent and cheap.

Expect "Barny" infestation of incredible proportion if you are in Palma harbour... based on my mate.:(

Look here for more info. The site is not really up to date though.

We spent 5 yrs moored in Club de Mar http://www.clubdemar-mallorca.com/ and there were quite a few liveaboards there. Not particularly cheap at about €1000 per month for a 15m berth but its v secure and close to all amenities. Palma is a pleasant city and Majorca is a beautiful island. Good air connections to the UK as well

Agree with that. My boat could easily lose 5-6kts of speed in just a couple of months of fouling due to sterngear fouling. I engaged a diver 3 or 4 times a year just to keep the sterngear clean
