Any ideas on \"book\" speed for Superhawk

So running around at the weekend I was seeing speeds in the late 30-knot mark.

The boat is new to me so I am still fooling around with trim and set up...but want to know what I should realistically expect from a clean bottom, recently serviced model.

Having looked at an old copy of MBM it is talking about Volvo KAD300s (285hp) cracking 45 knots.

I am running Yanmar 6LPA-STZP (Serial Number: 50688 and 50689) on Mercruiser Bravo III drives. I THINK these are 315hp....but they may only be rated at 300hp (not sure how to tell).

I don't know what ratio the drives are.

I have stainless 26 pitch 15" duoprops on.

Vital statistics are:
11.33m LOA
8.65m LWL
3.1m Beam
0.65m draft (1.15m inc props)

Weight...MBM say 7.9tonnes; 6.05tonnes in MBY and Sunseeker say 5.8tonnes at "half load". Comedy.

Any ideas what top end I should expect??????

Stef

Stefan, just being nosey, but did you buy her off a big guy called John???

Lovely boat if you did.
Jas. Sorry but I cant help you with the speeds, my Targa 37, similar size on KAD 44's clean at 3900 rpm, topped out at 38.5 knots on the GPS. Just the once you understand, and a calm sea.

3300 rpm cruises at about 25 knots or so.

I had a Martinique 39 re-engined with Kad 300`s. It topped out with a clean bum at 39knots. Being a lighter boat with more grunt I would agree with Jez that you should be looking for 42-45 knots
