Any have design ideas for a detachable sailing dinghy outboard mounting?

Pondering the same question with mine too, are you planning to be able to sail with the engine in place ?
Not sure yet. Would be nice to. Its no safer for the engine to be inside the boat if i capsize unless it was in a very large drybag secured inside. Firmly secured to the transom might be the way to go. If its off the back enough that I don't keep catching the main sheet on the engine then it should be ok. I'll post what I end up doing

TV cameras use a wedge plate system to fix to their mountings, a trapezoidal plate with chamfered edges which slides tightly in to a matching shaped fitting on the mounting. It's very secure and low profile, maybe you could copy the idea to make a quickly demountable outboard bracket.

I don't have any way to easily grind an accurate enough angle which I'd need to do for that. But its close to this Any have design ideas for a detachable sailing dinghy outboard mounting?

I think thats a pretty fair price as well. I wonder where its made? If in the UK that might swing it and I'll just buy one

Could you make something up that fits over the traveler and uses the existing rudder mounts to help hold in place? The bit over the traveler could be made wide enough to rest against the solid parts of the traveler mount.
Maybe something like this over the traveller to one side of the rudder. Slotted into 2 mounts on the transom and 2 on the aft deck. Good way to spread the loads. Those metal bars could fold in so its pretty flat stowing. The engine mounting board would have adjustable height. That might be a winner. I need to break my boat out of the dinghy park now.
