The Kindle store is a bit limited on sailing books and I wondered if anyone can recommend anything? I have found a couple of interesting things on this forum and one or two classics like Slocum at reasonable cost on Kindle Store.

I am attempting to attach a pdf of E F Knights 'The Falcon on the Baltic' a good read.

many thanks, Colin

Oh and shrimpy on PDF or converted o mobi format http://www.bluemoment.com/pdf/shrimpy.pdf

Has anyone done a decent conversion of Shrimpy to Mobi? I had a 'quick and dirty' go with Calibre yesterday, but there were quite a few formatting issues with the result.

It needs someone to do the conversion then edit the HTML file - a bit painstaking, but worth it. I'm too busy, but if anyone else has some time on their hands it would a a great thing to do.

On Kindle, and looking to sort out on PDF, might find them interesting.

Boatingdreams 1 covers the buying of our first boat, setting a mooring and finding out about sailing and boats, refurbishing and selling. Then buying another and moving aboard full time in Essex.

Boatingdreams 2 covers the setting up of electrics/electronics and sailing in the South east coasts Black waters and Rivers from Tollesbury to Ipswich, swapping a Trapper 500 for a Moody 33.

Boatingdreams 3 covers more of the above and heading North up the east coast to Shetland stopping in Inverness, having spent a month cruising the Caledonian canal.

Boatingdreams 4 covers the journey to Shetland, up the east coast over the Pentland Firth, The Merry Men of Hoy, Orkney, Fair Isle and Shetland.

Boatingdreams 5 covers the return from Shetland to Orkney via Fair Isle, then over the North of Scotland to Cape Wrath, and down the west coast to Stranraer and over to Ireland.

The next trip out is May/June and will be sailing down to the Bristol area, via Scotland, Isle of Man, Wales and Bristol (Boatingdreams 6), Staying in Bristol for a wee refit, water tanks and electronics (radar) and some cosmetics. After that hope to complete our circumnavigation by returning to Tollesbury (Boatingdreams 7) and publishing one complete book on our novice travels on a boat and how cheap it really is to liveaboard, travel and work around the UK.

I hope this is of interest. And anyone of any knowledge of how to set up these in PDF would be received with thanks.

Happy sailing......the journey continues..

'Family Aweigh' by Michael Holt - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Family-Aweigh-ebook/dp/B005REU3UG (£2.30 Kindle edition)

This is a book about a family getting away from London life to live the dream on their boat in the Mediterranean - mum, dad and three kids.

One of the kids happens to be my dad!

This tale of their years spent aboard 'Jernica' has inspired me to live on a boat today. My granddad was a journalist and writer, so this is a fantastic read.

I spent many a lunchtime at work laughing out loud over this - and then had a little cry at the end. It's a jubilant and emotional look at how a family have made their dreams come true on the water.

Two's a Crew ~ Circumnavigation of Australia ~ FREE

You can download for free "Two's a Crew" here.

Great story of two ex-veteran sailors who hadn't sailed anywhere for sixteen years, relaunch their homemade boat and follow Flinders wake around the largest island continent. Heaps of photos.
