I would welcome any comments from past or present owners/users about the Gibert range of motors boats.
Having sold my Cranchi Pelican 32 I have been looking for a suitable replacement. I did sea trial a Faeton Moraga 840 last week and although it performed reasonably well I thing I would prefer twin engines for ease of maneuvering as well as the safety factor. I go tuna fishing and would feel uncomfortable having to rely on just one engine (the Faeton has a single yanmar 260hp engine)
I have spotted the Jamaica 28 and quite like the lay out and it has been re-engined with a pair of VP D4 210 hp engines in 2005 with 650 hours on the clock.
Having searched the internet I cannot find any background info about the Gibert range and wondered if the manufacture run was very short due to lack of sales because of unreliability etc.
