I'm not convinced on the method but you could do a nice weekend trip into Poole Harbour and enjoy the fresher water of the R Frome around Ridge Wharf or Wareham "

I don't think I'd take a trip up the Frome for the purpose of engine running, quite a good chance of weed clogging the intake I'd think; after a day or two I usually have to reverse away from the weed built up all over the front of the boat when leaving the quay.
