Any French speakers about?

on approach....wave a hammer enthusiastically in the air whilst stood on the flybridge.

repeatedly point at the harbour staff and the head on the hammer.

I find non verbal communication helps so much in these situations

Hoping one day to be able to France again, can someone check my translation, please? Am I right that a pontoon's Hammer Head is called, 'Le bout de pontoon'?

In my marina attendant days, we used 'le tête du ponton / catway' as 'hammerhead' when describing it to French visitors (head of the pontoon, catway I think is a brand name)

Piers

Tete de marteau de ponton should get you there.

Alternatively ask Pierrique HM at Carteret, but there again they Don't have Hammerheads there, Catways are pontoon fingers
