Any experience with Northernreef Insurance

I have been given a quote for boat insurance by Northernreef. This company is new to me, has anyone used this insurance company?

I just did a google search, there is feedback from people on the Classic Boat forum; the feedback is not positive at all.

There is no need to insure with an unregulated insurer when we have such a huge choice of reputable insurers in the UK.

As you’re berthing in Newport I suggest taking a trip to Bay Marine insurance brokers on Penart Road in Cardiff and letting them you know your needs. They have always been able to tailor better to my needs from a face to face than the option buttons on a website and the results very competitive. No connection etc.

When I first insured for example they got a great deal with Aviva- not now insuring boats I think but certainly a proper insurer and not the sort of thing thrown up in a google search.

If you are shopping, don't forget Y Yacht Insurance. Many of us use them and they have arguably the best policy and price is competitive with the other major players.

There are many insurers and underwriting agencies all regulated with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Offshore insurance security not for me.
Yyacht I do not believe handle claims and appear to outsource so double check not only the insurance coverage available but in house service resorces.
Claims are the shop window.
