Hi all

What antifouling should I be looking at for my Merry Fisher 925 (24 knots at WOT, usually run at 18 to 20 knots).

She is based in Kirkcudbright SW Scotland where fouling was never bad in the past, but this year is pretty dire, I discovered an entire new eco system under her today.

I am open to all options, but it must be green as it would make the job nice and easy.

You might want to see what is compatible with your present a/f, or you will need a primer too.
Why does green make nice and easy? Or do you mean the colour?

Thanks for your reply,

Yes I was meaning the colour, what is there is already green.

I have no idea what was used previously so as you say I will need to check and see what's what, whatever it was it's antifouling properties certainly do not have me overly excited.

I have a Jeaneau boat too which had green AF, but the stuff I have used for several seasons now and I find is the best (tried blakes and intnl) EU45 does not do green, so I changed to dark blue. I do get very light slime and a little weed build up (the usual waterline beard) but compared to the others I used, its far more effective. Have a look on the EU45 website - lots of info there.

If it's green, chances are it's Blakes/Hempel Tiger Xtra. That's what my MF 805 has always been done with. Just redone it, no problems with fouling at all, on the East Coast.

Thanks Paul, and the other replies, I have never kept an angling boat long enough to worry about re-antifouling it so I didn't know what product I should be looking at. No more berthing space available so I will have to keep the 925 for a while.

I hope that you have had a reasonable seasons fishing.

Steven

You're welcome. Season was not bad this year, did a fair amount of cruising too. Looking forward to the Cod arriving now.
