Likewise, I have spoken to several east coast sailors who have given up on it. I have also spoken to those that do the jetwashing in other areas. They see the boats when they come out & all say that whilst some seem OK, the general consensus is that it is nowhere as good as the manufacturers claim.I'm afraid that's not accurate. I have seen two examples at Mersea of boats having invested lots in copper coat, and then taking it off a few seasons later and replaced with eroding AF...
The only reason I have stayed with CC is that I lay up in the winter so the boat is launched clean. I then have it jetwashed mid season. The cost of jetwashing equates to an expensive AF paint, equipment & my labour.
Plus I am too old & life now to short to spend time re applying paint every year.
Coppercoat is nowhere as good as AF paint, but I live with it because of the reduction in hassle.
I have started to apply Shogun 33 to the keel, due to rust & I can see the improvement compaired to the hull straight away
