Antifouling question

Merry Christmas everyone! The weather here in Hamburg is currently unseasonably warm, and I was wondering if, despite the instructions on the tin not to apply antifouling more than 3 months in advance, it would make any real difference to the potency of the coating if I antifouled tomorrow. Our launch date is mid-late April, and it is expected that the weather will revert to normality in the New Year (ie, 2 months of below zero temperatures. during which antifouling will be difficult and perfectly bloody!).

If you want it to do what it says on the tin, you should also do what it says on the tin.

I admit I have no experience to support this comment, but the manufacturer knows his product (hopefully).

Thanks for that! What I was really after was an indication as to whether the expected cold spell would extend the 3 month period, perhaps as the A/F would react more slowly in a colder atmosphere, thus allowing me to do the coating during thenext few days.

However, I too have no direct experience of this, and was hoping that the Forum body of knowledge would know the answer.

Anyway, as a famous American once said " Hope is not a method!"

You can do it now but it may loose some of its effectiveness. I have no experience of that particular a/f but I personally leave it until later, theres bound to be some better spells of weather
