Re: Antifouling Q\'s?

1) Regular or foam on cardboard, solid foam goes all soft and squidgy and falls off the roller
2) Paper towel & white spirit if wet. AF thinners if not.
3) Gloves, old overalls and clothes, hat if you've not got blue or red hair and want to keep it that way. Goggles if she's a bilge keeler.
4) AF thinners or time and a scrubbing brush.
5) 1 or 2, depending on quality of paint (UNO is reputed to only need 1 coat).

Re: Antifouling Q\'s?

1. I use a small radiator roller with long handle. Furry or mohair, never foam.
2. AF thinners and rag.
3. YES. Including eye protection. A drip of AF in the eye ruins your day.
4. With difficulty. Hand cleaner is best. Even better, don't get any on skin. This results in you looking a bit daft, with boiler suit, PVC gloves, plastic bag fixed over your hair with masking tape, safety goggels or full face mask and a pair of shoes that you can throw after the process. DO NOT go aboard before removing said shoes and all other gear.
5. Try one coat this year, if not enough, you will know for next year. Two coats round waterline is a good idea though.
6. Good luck!

If you wear spectacles, cover them with goggles.
Don't park your car within 30 feet unless you fit a protective skirt to catch airborne particles!

Anecdotal from the Blackwater... "Boats launched two weeks ago are now coming out to scrub"...... Overheard on the hammerhead at West Mersea.
