I am about to buy antifouling paint for next season. Ocean Star currently has International Cruiser Uno (we rarely exceed 10 kts and almost never 15 kts) applied last March. She will be out of the water in January for a bottom scrub, etc.

I am thinking of using Hempel Cruising Performer primarily because it comes in 2.5L tins rather than the 3L of Cruiser Uno. Two questions please:

1. Does anybody have any experience of using the Hempel paint on a semi displacement boat?

2. Is there any reason why I should not apply Hempel onto old International paint assuming it isn't flaking off o course?

Many thanks.

Richard.

Cruising Performer should go over Cruiser Uno without any problems. If you were to take a belt and braces approach you would put a coat of Hempel Underwater Primer on first then apply the Cruising Performer. Still cheaper than having the Cruiser Uno removed.

Hi i had probs with my antifoul not holding verry well last year i used hempel with a primer coat underneath. this year when i craned it out & jet washed it was if it had just been done.

I would recomend it
