Antifouling new aluminium propeller

Brand new volvo aluminium fixed propeller. Before painting with primer (and them antifoul paint), do I need to sand it first or paint the primer directly on the propeller? And if sand it, will that be just slightly? What grid sand paper (or water paper?).

I had a brand new aluminium prop 4 years ago. It was finished in a powder coat black paint. I have never painted it with anything else. I last checked it in August last year and it still had a nice shiny paint surface with no growth or damage on the original paint. I can't say the same for the saildrive which was covered in tube worm despite the Trilux AF.
I will polish the prop paint surface when I am lifted out for a spring clean and AF. Steve.
