What antifouling should you use on an aluminium hull?
How effective are these - compared with "conventional" AF we use on GRP? Personal experience welcome.

Copper free antifouling such as Trilux. Have a look on the International site for more information. Use it on my saildrive leg. Works fine if applied properly.

I was going to suggest Trilux but a very small tin cost nearly £20 when I last bought some. Doing a complete hull would cost a fortune.

There must be a cheaper way.

I don't know if it is any cheaper but International also do "Cruiser Bright White". TBH I've never heard of it, but they say it's OK for Aluminium.

As Tranona says Trilux, or more correctly Trilux 33, and Cruiser Bright White are International Yachtpaints' offering for use on aluminium.

They are not actually copper free as they contain cuprous thiocyanate rather than cuprous oxide.

International specify Interprotect, a 2 part epoxy coating, as the primer for aluminium

I used to have an aluminum Extravert. I never found an antifoul that really worked.

Look at joton sea queen much better on price
