Hi .
Has anyone used Flag antifoul in the past?
I have seen it advertised in various places and it seems a reasonable price but would like some opions or feedback on its performance.
I will only have the boat in the water from april to end sep, in the Clyde,/ North channel, so if it lasts for a season at a time that would suit me.

Used Flag this year........ boat kept on a swinging mooring/East Coast/River Blackwater.

It fared no better/worse than most others around which I knew to be applied correctly.

Weed and barnacle growth was apparent by early/mid august to the point where I had to go on the scrubbing posts at the end of August to clear the growth which was causing an engine water intake flow problem.

Positives: Easy to apply and cheap. Performed as well as expensive leading brands on neighbouring boats.

Negatives: Still doesn't bl$$dy work all season!!

If you go to Screwfix.com - it's on special offer at the moment - £29.99/2½ Litres Looks good value!

Went to pick up my 2 tins of Flag AF from Lynx depot (£29.99 bargain from Screwfix)............. box was a very soggy blue colour......... both tins burst due to delivery drivers delicate handling /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Screwfix have just rung to say they are now out of stock /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Re: Antifoul - Flag A/F at Screwfix - CHEAP!!

My tin arrived yesterday, also leaking. In my case the basic cause was that the clips holding the lid on were too big and consequently didn't spring over correctly. The lid had partially opened but most of the contents were still inside.
