Antifoul Scraper

Contemplating scraping off the 10 years worth of antifouling this winter /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I remember seeing a scraper tool that attatches to a vacume cleaner to clear up the scrapings.

Anyone know where to get one ?

i'm busy scraping of my boat.
It's hard work and i tried different tools but the best way to do it is
a protective mask a big cover on the ground and a proffesional scraper i use a bahco http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=9237&Referrer=ShoppingCom

Since it is hard work i think it will be very tiring if you have a scraper with a vacuum cleraner connected to it but you can find one on http://www.gelplane.co.uk/proscraper/product.asp

Know it well. just taken anti-foul off one entire side of 28 footer in 5 hours, clean as a whistle. I think most of the swindlries carry them. Mike.

I agree, last thing I would want on an antifoul scrape is a vacuum attachment. If you do not want to suck the dust, I am sure there is some cheap labour around and you can always fill someone elses lungs with antifoul dust instead...

Like the look of the Bahco scraper.

Looks like the Sandvik scraper I used which was also excellent.

Also found a one inch chisel ground down to a square edge very good for the 'turn of the bilge ' bits. Got a bit of weight in it as well.

The vacuum one looked good, but, as this job takes hours and hours , decided that the noise would drive me bananas. Having said that, if you wear glasses you need a mighty good mask to see what's going on.
