The last couple off lift outs small areas of antifoul have been lifting off. This year is much worse to the stage the only anwer would seem to be having the remainder removed for a fresh start.
At present the boat (33ft bilge keeler) is ashore in Plymouth. Any advice on who to contact would be most welcome. I would have favoured soda blasting but have been advised this is no longer available due to rising costs of the soda. Having read the problems with sand blasting, I gather a wholly trustworthy operator is essential to avoid damage to the gel coat. Or is chemical stripping a better option.
Thanks for any help.

Not sure who to use in your neck of the woods but definately get someone to do it for you & chemical stripping is a pain in the butt.
Had my hull slurry blasted by Fox's 2yr ago and the keel shot blasted - probably the best money I have spent on her.....

Well apart from the Quantum sails....

And the kite......

And the Garmin chart plotter......

the list goes on :D :D

You could try these people

Biojet Surface Preparation
Tel: +44 (0)1752 297461
Mobile soda blasting unit for removal of antifouling.

Never used them though.

OK hopefully I won't get told off for advertising, but if you post it on our site we have a few different suppliers who should get back to you... I suspect blasting is probably the best option.
