I am rather ashamed of the appearance of my antifoul which has steadily increased in thickness for the past 10 years to my knowledge. It needs to be removed so I can start again. I'm afraid I'm a bit too old and frail to tackle it myself.

So are the any recommendations for a suitable contractor at Chichester. Some idea of price would be useful as well.

Boat is a 32ft AWB.

Thanks in anticipation.

Best way to do it is to have it blasted. Try Symblast. Based in Dorset but covers the South Coast. around £800 depending on finish required.

Stoshak,

be very careful to use a known decent operator if having your boat's bottom blasted; a while ago a few large cruisers at my club got together for a discount blasting deal - despite all the assurances they had the gelcoats removed too, resulting in a lost summer's sailing, repairs and lots of legal hassle...

Blasting is fine - you may want to delve into which type you fancy - but make sure it's a trustworthy outfit.

Hi

+1 for Symblast. Very proffesional, they did my 30 ft boat in half a day including cleaning up after and leaving no trace in the yard.

Very satisfied customer.

good luck

For a more traditional/non-blasting approach, try Chris Murch at Northney Marina - one of the guys in the club used him and he did a fantastic job.. http://www.northney-yacht-repairs.co.uk/
