Antifoul paint

The choice of antifoul paint is often no more than brand loyalty or based on "I have always used brand X". Does anyone have personal knowledge of what works best in mediterranean waters?

Blakes is good, as is the international cruising, but I'm using seajet shogun 033, this year, come highly reccomended by quite a few yachties around here in Barca. I buy 40 litres, and I'm getting it at less than £10 a litre. I may buy 80 whilst I can get it cheap!

For something completely different.....A tip I picked up in a Canadian mag was to add 2oz Cayenne pepper to yr 1 gallon can of antifouling and mix in well. I tried it on my last repaint job on my displacement launch - painted one side with, and the other side without - very scientific!!! Good results - nowhere near the growth on the 'with' side.

Worth a try - anything that reduces growth is good!!

It doesnt really matter - you'll smell just great either way.;-)

I'm going to leave my boat for another 6 months (till the end of this winter) then pull it out and see how it looks out of the water. From my observations from the dockside - it certainly appears to be working!!
