Hi I am about to buy another boat, a sports cruiser and for the first time its a boat on a trailer. I will placing the boat on a pontoon berth at Conwy and leaving it in the water. I was contemplating not anti fouling and pressure washing at regular intervals, has anyone done this? is it a silly idea? how often would you have to clean the hull? would some fouling be very difficult to clean, your input would be most welcome

Sound quite reasonable....
I would polish the hull best you can before immersing it..
Give the little critters less to cling to,then every couple of weeks get her out on the trailer and wash her off.
Certainly would'nt go more than a few weeks though.

Unless you're going to dry sail the boat it'll foul up pretty quickly. We left a racing boat in the water for a while. Pressure washing every two weeks kept things under control, but leaving it more than three weeks meant there was a lot of cleaning. Went back to dry sailing.

If you have a boat lifty eg like this it is better to not anti-foul

If you are water-jetting the boat while its on the trailer (depends on the roller configeration), you will find it difficult to access the entire underwater section.
Maybe try it and see how you feel after a few clean offs, and weigh up the pros and cons.
