Yeah this is a shame, the only time I am likely to see double digits on a 33' long keel is after too long in the pub.
Does anyone have first hand experience of the new silicone coatings? Not poisoning the wildlife is a tempting feature
Have some legs so giving it a regular scrub is possible I guess. Managed 12kt in a narrowboat going up the Trent from Keadby. Fouling not so much an issue currently as the ducks eat it.
I have two friends who have tried it and then regretted the whole experience. Sailing boats go too slowly for it to self-clean and it is a nightmare to removeDoes anyone have first hand experience of the new silicone coatings? Not poisoning the wildlife is a tempting feature
Coppercoat after 10 weekshaha quite amusing but what’s more amusing is the fact that you are more willing to keep shelling out on a product that needs to be applied yearly and in recent years has become less and less effective but also increasingly more expensive.
on the other hand nothing, that’s right nothing, grows on my coppercoat (could be down to sailing area, or just actually using the boat) therefore no yearly outlay for ineffectual paint and time spent applying said useless product, so far I’ve not even needed a pressure wash.
one less job for me to do this springtime
