Nick, we really enjoyed that Sunseeker video but both of us said “how do they get it ready for sea”?

We CAN go from live-aboard state to ready for sea if we have to in about 15 minutes but my God that’s a scramble.

My wife does the breakables/everything inside even it involves wrapping stuff in some light duvets we carry ... I basically get everything ready outside but that SS was absolutely full of potentially flying chairs and tables and and and.
 
Sadly I'm not an expert on superyacht cruising in full 'owner mode', however my guess would be that for fair weather pleasure trips most of it stays out. It's almost 200 tonne of boat so not going to get bounced about too much plus the stabilisation systems on these big boats is pretty impressive. I was on a big (circa 80ft) flybridge Sunseeker videoing a Sunseeker 95 Yacht for MBY a couple of years ago. I was on the flybridge and the 95 went past at full throttle while turning away from us - you can imagine the wash! Just before the wake hit I instinctively stopped recording, grabbed the flybridge rail and hung on but was astonished. The boat I was on just bobbed vertically slightly and settled again, no roll whatsoever. Incredible.

However when on port to port transit without owner or guests on board I would imagine the (up to 9!) crew that can be accommodated on the 131 Yacht pack everything away. I was lucky enough to join this actual boat on a leg of its maiden voyage from Poole to the Med (I went cross channel to Jersey) and the interior looked nothing like it does now in my video!
 
I'm pretty certain it is Pete, yes! When I was on board I met four crew, if you look at the crew in/out board at the bottom of the crew area stairs on the right, it looks like there are spaces for more.

And I believe I'm right in saying that the boat is not chartered, it's owner use only, so that's a lot of people spending a lot of time keeping it perfect whilst not in use (and it really was perfect!)

When we went to the bow area where the anchor windlasses are, the first officer apologised about the cleanliness of that area, it was next to do - honestly it was spotless! And just before we went into the engine room I asked whether I should put my shoes back on (I'd taken them off as soon as I'd come aboard) bearing in mind I was going to be back inside walking on the carpets again afterwards. I was told there was no need, there was absolutely no dirt in there to pick up. He was right!

So yes, think it was real teak, but every inch of that boat inside and out is just immaculate.
 
Great video Nick! Thank's for taking the time to record and upload these. Very fun to see some real life footage to get a feel of these incredible places. Liked and subscribed!

I've got this tiny little feeling that other forumites reading this are going to think we've gone completely nuts arguing about how to pronounce the name of a domestic appliance manufacturer on a boating forum. Well, on any forum really, even Mumsnet

Can we just agree that it isnt 'melee' and leave it at that?;)

You just don't want to get angry and get "Shore leave" again lmao. Definitely not Melee though. However I do have a mate that works for them (Miele/Siemens/Bosch/Panasonic) and he says "Mee-Luh" as per videos.
I'm not posting on mumsnet to check though so will happily stand down! :D:encouragement:
