anti motion sickness glasses

So the conclusion is:
Every known cure works for somebody
No known cure works for everybody

Personally I find Stugeron pretty good, but I dislike being dependent on tablets so only take them when I think I might need them. I don't always get that judgement quite right.

Knowing that seasickness is a mismatch between what your eyes see and the ears feel, if I go below for a rest I make sure to close my eyes as soon as possible. No lying there staring at the deck head. This works up to a point but has certain drawbacks if I've gone below for navigation or cooking purposes.

I can't cope with the idea of ginger nuts doing any good. The quantity of ginger is minute. A friend who sails with me sometimes always brings a Jamaican ginger cake. At least that contains a good amount of ginger although it often goes uneaten and I have it at home afterwards. It definitely seems to work for me there.

I would like to believe that those wrist band or electricky things might work, though I've never yet tried one.

Ultimately, I do believe that a cure will work if you believe it will work. Unfortunately believing that rather gets in the way of believing in the first place that it will work. (If you get my drift.)

so it looks like that's a definite maybe. Looking at the horizon doesn't help SWMBO so maybe the electric wristwatch might help. She has tried the bands without success and stugeron makes her nearly as ill as seasickness.

She did try a 'natural' seasickness pill which seemed to be concentrated ginger. It didn't work and then the strong smell of ginger from the scuppers made the rest of the crew sick.

She does get over it by about day 4. But those 4 days are some disincentive.

With the ginger remedy, when I used to live on the good old Isle of Man, I couldn't believe the amount of islanders who suffered from seasickness (primarily on the Seacat, not so much the floating skip (See "Ben my chree") )

As I was a biker back then you always ended up sitting with the other bikers and one guy I sat with once was literally carving little chunks off a ginger stick and chewing them as we sailed...he'd told me he used to be incapacitated with sickness until someone told him about the ginger, since then he'd taken root with him and chewed it from the off, had never suffered with it since....I agree though, Ginger Nuts probably not so good, and the sugar/starch etc are unlikely to make the situation any better...

We have a pair on our boat and 3 different people have used the glasses and they all reported feeling better.

For what its worth - I would not be with out them
