I have a newish Beta (2018) -I know supposed to use mono ethylene glycol and I guess extended life - is that blue, yellow, green, orange OAT stuff?
Looking for something I can get from Halfords, Screwfix, Europarts etc

I've used the pink Halfords stuff for 9 years in a new Beta 35 engine without changing it. All the time it's pink and not rust coloured I'm guessing that's no corrosion whatever their marketing people say. I never change the antifreeze in my car, does anyone?

I change the pink stuff in my cars around every 10 years /100k miles. A bit more often on the boat .... every 5 years or so. :)

I believe Beta do specify the extended life OAT type. OAT is usually red or yellow, the conventional low silicate type is usually blue or green .... but read what it says on the label and dont mix the two types.

In cars its fair enough to extend the change interva,l as Richard does, but inadvisable in the boat because of the risk of contamination with salt water.
You'll get OAT antifreeze from Halfords,, Eurocarparts etc but Halfords seem a bit funny at the moment.

Youll not likely find anything other than ethylene glycol based antifreeze on the "car" market ... You'd probably have to go out of your way to find propylene glycol based antifreeze although it does exist

Unless you are in an area where the tap water supply is relatively low in dissolved solids you should dilute the antifreeze with distilled or deionised water or buy it ready diluted

The relevant specification for the dilution water is:
Total hardness: ............................................ < 9.5° dH
Chloride......................................................... < 40 ppm
Sulfate ........................................................... < 100 ppm
pH value........................................................ 5,5–9
Silica (acc. ASTM D859) .............................. < 20 mg SiO2 /l
Iron (acc. ASTM D1068).............................. < 0.10 ppm
Manganese (acc. ASTM D858)................... < 0.05 ppm
Conductivity (acc. ASTM D1125)................ < 500 µS/cm
Organic content, CODMn (acc. ISO8467) .... < 15 mg KMnO4 /l
