Just had to post this piccy. It is Black Sugar after 1 year in. Picture taken just after pressure washing her bottom. There is a blue coat under the red, to tell me when to put another coat on. Since she came new with AwlGrip Gold, I have been paying premium price to keep it up. You never need to get the old stuff off, as it stays active as long as it is there, and erodes in it's own time.

What did it look like before the pressure wash? Was there much growth? How does it compare to other boats in the location?

[/ QUOTE ]Growth on waterline, lovely moustache. Muddy growth on the rest. No barnacles**. Considerably cleaner than other boats. BUT.... other boats seem to lose their a/f more.

** At Burnham, the level was such that the keel sat in the mud at low-water except small neaps. Grew barnacles all over the mud-immersed bit, v hard to get off.

After 2 hours, half topsides brought back to required level of polish:
