Antares 30S advice please re black and grey waste tanks. I have read the manual carefully but still not 100% clear.
1. Black water waste tank. If I wish to discharge straight out to sea when offshore can I just open seawater inlet valve and open the seawater outlet valve that comes from the black water waste tank. Such that after using the toilet one pumps directly in to the sea? This is using an electric toilet ie using the macerator pump.

2. Grey water tank. How can I discharge directly overboard when running the kitchen sink to empty the water tank for the winter?

Gray water (Basin, sink and shower) on my A30 is piped directly overboard with no diverters or valves and exits above the waterline on the SS. I thought this pluming arrangement was the standard fit?

Why I asked this question is beause the Owner manual says tehr basins, sink and shower drain directly into the grey tank and it is a separate operation to discharge it rather than just draining overboard.. I appreciate this with Black water/ black tank but had not realised this was the same with the gray water. ( I had a grey water tank on my old boat and got caught out when I ran the taps on the kitchen sink to empty the tank for the winter; only to find that I overfilled the grey tank and it back filled into the bilges.) Do not wish to be caught out this way again. See page from owners manual attached.

Looks the same as mine. All gray water is discharged directly overboard, I dont think you have a gray water tank?

The loo empties into the black water tank and can be pumped out at sea by opening the outlet sea cock and pressing the small black button next to the loo

Thanks Ragerman. I would like it to only have a black tank but when I gave the hull number to Beneteau they sent me the manual which talks about a grey tank. See earlier reply from me with copy of manual page. This is a boat that I have paid the deposit on and was due to pay the remainder today subject to survey and seatrial. Sadly it did not go as we had hoped with several engine issues and gearbox control unit putting the boat in neutral several times on the 300m to the lift. Hence seatrial cancelled for safety reasons and vendor has agreed to get all items fixed ready for another seatrial with surveyor. It goes to show how important it is to have a good surveyor. BTW if anybody has a Volvo D6, 270HP I’m happy to share the main issues picked up..
