Hi all
I sold my Antares 760 last summer and then bought a Antares 9 series before lock down so I have a question hoping somebody could help,

On my 12 volt panel I have a toggle switch that has
11 volt if switched to the left,
off if centre,
12/13 volt if switched to the right,
only when engine is running,
so could anybody tell my what position I should set it when running if at all and what is this switch for,
thanks

It makes no difference to the running of the engines, the switch does not ‘operate’ anything, you use it to monitor the battery voltage which typically should be just over 12 volts with engine and charger off and around 13.5 volts with engine running. You can turn it on when engine running to confirm that alternator is charging correctly.
The position of the switch corresponds to which battery the meter is connected to, central position is off, other 2 positions are domestic and engine batteries.

The reason I asked the question was somebody told me if not turned on the batterys wont charge it didn't sound right but not knowing about it I asked

I have an Antares 10.8, similar switch - one position shows the charging voltage, the other shows the battery voltage (as far as I remember). Usually shows yellow while charging either from the engines or charger in 240V system, green in the other position. Switch normally left in the centre position, with neither light illuminated, and batteries charge OK.

(Edited from my original post, as my memory was playing tricks with me - I haven't visited my boat since March, and engines not run since October/November)
