Looking at moving from sail to power, had a 2nd viewing of a 2005 Antares 9 with a VP KAD 43.

The Boat feels made to a price compared to a Moody or Westerly yacht but more importantly does any one have any experience of its sea keeping abilities specifically rolling as it's quiet a high Boat for its size.

Coastal cruising around Poole and the Solent, but mayhop across the channel or to Brixham is the Boat suitable for longer trips like that?

Thanks all

Great little boats for the money.

Rolling.... its an SD Hull so not very much unless like all unstabalised craft you have a beam seas and low speeds.

In a head sea it is a wet boat throwing spray aside but for its size sea kindly and safe.

For the money very hard to beat.

D4 engines started around 2005 if you want a 'more modern' engine.

One we cruised with did coastal and across to Belgium so I would thought perfect for your needs.

great boats ours is 2008 vintage had it from new we have been out in some very bad sea conditions
which frightend us but the boat never felt unsafe, they do roll a bit in a beam sea, it is a wet boat in a head sea
as pks1702 says, ours has the d4-260 engine uses between 5-7 gallons an hour 2700 revs 14-15 knots
top speed 22 knots but fuel used goes up to 12 gallons an hour, if you need anymore info please feel free to
pm me.
