I am currently in Anstruther deep cleaning the boat after three blokes have been living and more or less working on it for seven days. That is an equivalent amount of dirt to me living on the boat for 21 days without cleaning it.

The only cleaning I have done along the way is to sweep the saloon floor, scrub around the sink and clean around the loo several times a day.

I am going to get the boat around to Inverness - leaving here at about 11.00 Tuesday morning and hopefully getting to Inverness Marina before dark Wednesday night.

If anyone would like to join me for a 36 hour sail then that would be marvelous, if not I will break the journey into two by dropping anchor or pull into a half way harbour

If anyone wants to come and have a butchers at the boat this afternoon feel free to drop by today or this evening.

the phone is 07712 186 250

also, I was wondering if anyone near Invernes would be prepared to host the family Polo for a few weeks in return for some DVDs

My guess is that some-one will come to pick it up again at the end of June - we have to schlep back south for a graduation ceremony

D

although just looked up to see that it is 83miles from here to Peterhead and another 90 miles to Inverness so might have to find a place to stop half way between Peterhead and Inverness

As much as I would love to join you on the trip I don't think I can spare the time, nor organise the logistics of getting down there.

If nobody else comes forward I could look after the car for you, thought we are 23 miles North of Inverness and you can only get to within 3 miles of our house by public transport so we would have to meet whoever comes to collect the car there by arrangement.

that is brilliant

We will have a folding bike with us - just the one at the moment - a borrowed brombton so unless anyone closer can offer to be a Polo host......

There is plenty of free parking at Inverness Marina and my car has sat there safely for a week or more while I have been away. If your boat is going to be in the marina I very much doubt the staff will mind your car being there.

no doubt

Inverness marina for your car just ask David Findlay the manager ( 01463220501)if you can leave it in the compound. The yard is locked every night, will be very surprised if he doesn't say yes. (pm if you want me to have a word for you)

My wee boat is in Inverness marina.
Tell us when you are arriving and I could perhaps video the arrival.
(I use taxi to get there and back)

Kessock Bridge - last time I was going up against tide
I was going backwards under the main arch.
I went over to the RLNI north side and cam through and across to the Marina quite easily.
