Another yacht seized by pirates

Guapa has inadvertently done what was asked on the other thread-----start adifferent thread for uninformed opinion like ours, leaving the original for those who can either help or advise.

NOW---hope to God(if there is one) that our Gordon doesn't see this as an opportunity for his own personal Falklands. He'll only f*** it up!

Quote from Lynn Rival blog 25/6/09 :
( Jean-Louis and Denise on Alero finally left for Tanzania a few days ago. They had been planning to leave in May but delayed because of the Somali pirate problem. We will miss them and hope to catch up with them at the end of the year )
Little did they know.

dear xxyyzz the word I believe you meant was dickless, and frankly deliberately putting yourself in harms way is an act of folly and not of logical risk taking which, if you put to sea, is what you do and is acceptable. No doubt if you indulged in such an act of 'bravado' you would be looking to someone else to pull your irons out of the fire. I am tempted to say more but, whats the point.

I do hope that the couple in this case (a) get out of it and (b) tell us all what the hell they thought they were playing at.

xxyyzz, Absolutely not, I hope I have not disturbed the self opinionated world that you live in where you are contemptuous of anyone elses views which do not align with yours. Ever sailed that part of the world?, ever ventured out of UK waters?. Please post your tales of daring do. Unless of course your only function is that of a wind up merchant!

Ladies, ladies.

Well, really, the guy was having a dig at them because they're victims of crime, presumably he holds the same contempt for women in short skirts who get raped and lads that get beaten up by a drunken psycho on a Saturday night.

Maybe children that get run over by speeding/drunk/reckless drivers are also to blame for their own "foolishness" in crossing a dangerous road?

Or businessmen who holiday in the Algarve and get robbed and murdered for that matter, is that their own foolishness as well?

I have no deeds of derring-do, great voyages or fantastical adventures, but I'm not pissing on those that do and chanting "told you so" from my nice cosy bunker.
