Another Whereisit

I can see why Stoke bridge and Maldon have been suggested. I think the span is not big enough for Stoke bridge so probably go for Maldon.
I assume that this is a bridge we would find on the East coast, so will also include Boston.

It's a fixed bridge - for which reason I thought it wasn't Holland - even going way back their canals had priority for boats over other traffic I thought...
I too thought Maldon - but were the banks of the Blackwater that built up back then
which led me to...
A creek off of the Thames? Tilbury, Barking, Bow, Deptford?

Ipswich, Stoke Bridge.
I think the same, it is looking downstream, you can see the large grain store buildings on the North side, and make out masts of ships moored along the quay where the Custom House is situated. I could of course be quite wrong.?

It's a painting of Stoke Bridge, Ipswich by Isaac Shepherd (1842-1899), and is in the Ipswich Borough Council collection. Here is another from the opposite side, by the same artist:

Yup. Stoke Bridge, Ipswich. Looking towards the Custom House on the left.

My favourite is picture 2 . It looks like chuck out time after church. Two bargemen in white shirts and the children turned out well. No roller skates, scooters or bikes. It looks like a four master in the background but may be more than just one ship.

At the time, my daughter was buying a flat in the maltings (which is still there), and I made
up a collage and had it framed to go somewhere. Unfortunately the sale fell through. I cannot recall where the pictures came from.
