The Seadog 30 has a long keel plus bilge keels - I think you could also get one with a deeper central keel, and no bilge keels, called a Deep Seadog.

Yes Bajansailor is correct, the Seadog does have two versions. The "bilge" type has a long centre keel with hollow bilge keels (that act as water tanks) and a "deep" type that has a slightly deeper centre keel only.

Have a look at the article in the current issue of Yatching Monthly for a multipage article about a Deep dog that lost its prop and still managed to sail home down the west coast of Scotland.

IMHO the Seadog is a great cruiser but will never be a racer. Swimbo and I have spent up to 3 months onboard and several have sailed round the world. A great boat for civilised sailing for a couple but a bit pushed for four adults. The ketch rig means that mizen and main only gets you through most conditions and the 40 horse donk will always get you home.
