I didn't use the 50mm lens very much on that video. I was mainly using the 18-135mm zoom lens, very versatile. I did use the 70-300mm lens a bit as well.

I used the 50mm a bit more this video from our cruise over christmas.



It's a good lens the 50mm, I bought it just before the cruise and was very pleased. It allows low light pictures to be taken without using flash and also allows for some interesting depth of field shots.

You mentioned there that you have a 50 mm f1.4 lens. You may have told me this elsewhere and if so I apologize, but which lens is that precisely? I'm curious as I'm considering getting one for this summer.

Hi there

It is the Canon 50mm f1.4

A bit over £300 from memory, 9,000 or so of your Euro coins ;) couldn't bring myself to spend over £1,000 for the f1.2 version. There is a cheaper f1.8 version but it's plastic and so I went down the middle option.

H, I like your videos v.much, I especially enjoy the story telling in your work and of course the quality of the imaging and camera work!
