Farther and two sons the builder
Wrong. They were three sons, albeit two eventually became more well known than the third.
"Trì fiò, trì can" (three sons, three dogs), as their father used to call them...

PS: btw, there is indeed also a Riva, in the pic.
Hard to tell the exact model, but Aquarama is the usual suspect, so to speak.

Depends if the silver car is vetroresina or steel .
76 / 78 era is near enough the date .

So what’s the boat ?
Who made fast boats on Como and was best mate with Enzo to go on in the 80,s putting a flat 12 512 bb boxer in a boat .
His boats did the various Cowes races in his hay day .

Come on spit it out boy :) and then you can sit at the front of the class next to W of PYB fame :)

Correct, but actually I don't think that's what powered the white boat.
Afaik, they only built one, at it was 100% Ferrari red.
I regularly spotted (and heard!) her around the lake, in my early boating days.

Agreed I said then went on in “ the 80,s “ The “ boxer “ project came a few years later after the white boat .

In fact he’s done a fab 52 about 4 M beam and even a 70 of late .
There’s a record ( before Buzzi) breaking Monaco / Venice .....52 with quad Arnesons for sale , yup 4x Yanmar 440 ,s .
This ones the actual race winner in its time is 52 with a 3 M beam .

Well, it's rather obvious by now that we are talking of an Abbate.
Btw, I don't think Bruno and Guido were involved in the Ferrari powered boat, which was actually built by Tullio.

Yeh we have a winner :encouragement:

Make me chuckle at posts on here of late re FL F33 , Priny R 38 , and S/Skr H 38 , it’s as if they just discovered something.:)

So say FL have majored on the petrol route with the F33 then why not jump into bed with McLaren and give it some proper kudos ?

Because all the car/boat collaborations, so far, have been a complete disaster style-wise. Probably a commercial disaster also

Engines only . Who said car !

Adds kudos and that imagery rubs off .
Italians have done it with Lamborghini and Ferrari .
Riva as well as Tullio Abatte .
Of course in the 70 , and 80,s a Allegro BL engined UK boat would have sunk quicker than the supplying Co :)

But fast fwd 30 yrs I just think there’s positive marketing potential if one of our so called big three could use a Mclaren power plant , or the Aston V 12 , compact Bentley W12 in stock good for 700 Hp .
Imagine a pair of those in FL 33 / R 38 .

Sticking Lamborghini V12 s in the the rivarama was a huge commercial success .

Engines only works .

It’s just today’s UK incarnations of sports boats have craper engines than 30 / 40 years ago .

The FL F33 ,s it’s odds on chances of failure will improve if there was a McLaren / Aston / Bentley- nutter Hp engine option alongside the cooking stock VP or what ever base spec .

Really?!? Either I totally missed it, or you are mixing up something.
Afaik, all Rivaramas were built with MAN engines (same 6L block as in your Itama, btw).
I'm only aware of one Lamborghini powered Riva, the famous #278 Aquarama.
But calling a huge commercial success a one-off specifically built for Ferruccio Lamborghini is a bit of a stretch, I reckon...

PS: that aside, I strongly disagree that fitting much more powerful engines on a boat like the F/line 33 could make sense.
Powering the same hull with several engines, ranging from 30+ to almost 50 kts max, is one thing.
But when you design a boat to go real fast, the game rules change.
The Hawk 38 hull for instance is designed as a fast boat from the ground up, and neither a F/line 33 nor any other sportish boat could hold a candle to her at high speed, regardless of power installed.

Aquarama is what I meant .
I pad spell thingy .
Lamborghini went on with his marinised coutach engine to power other boats btw not just Riva
