Another Rescue off Galicia

"Mr Hendron once represented his brother Henry Hendron when he was arrested for supplying drugs to his 18-year-old lover who died from an overdose"

"abandon shop"

Never change, Daily Mail.

I'm not anti Daily Mail. But it has a certain style that can be as amusing as the content. Turbogay toff identical twin barrister brother sinking a yacht probably had them laughing so hard they forgot the spell check.

I have just read the online Mail story & "abandon shop" doesn't feature, so fake news from you it seems.

Why do you read it then? No-one forces you to.

Those of us on the side of progress need to know what the enemies of civilisation are up to. I am disappointed to see that this chap only had a "yacht" ... anything larger than a Mirror dinghy is normally well within "luxury yacht" territory for the Daily Heil.

Well they reported a coherent statement from victim. They got muddled in their pictures making one think the giant rocks were the breakwater in a calm harbour, .

One does wonder about the apparent floatability of the towed in yacht, and the fact that it clearly had not smashed into giant rocks. So victim may have abandoned boat needlessly. There may be more to the story but the DM cant be blamed for not reporting something they have not been told.

My puzzle is why he was going near giant rocks in clearly bad weather - searoom might have saved the day

....which can only be sailed whilst battling mountainous seas and killer storms.

To be fair, the Grauniad is equally guilty on that score, ironically publishing their yachty sneering rhetoric next to Jay Rayner's latest £200 gourmet experience involving beaver liver infused foam or some such.

Yes, Salvamento marítimo does charge for their services. Either to the insurance company or in this case as he had no insurance, to the person rescued.
Couldn't find current tariffs these ones are for 2013, now will be more expensive:

We were towed last November due to a electrical fault, Less that 20 m in length and took around an hour to get back to port, the owner later told us that insurance paid around 450 euros for the service. So in this case he may be looking at a 10 grand bill for it.

If you only go third party, I hope you have other recources, if it goes tits up. Plenty of of peeps that have got themselvs into trouble thinking they could reley on their own ideas. Then spiraling down. Grim.
