Another Raymarine annoyance

I've no connection with raymarine, and agree this is an annoying drawback - but at least it is possible to customise raymarine instruments which is not the case for most other expensive network suites, let alone a budget product like raymarine.

Thanks for pointing out the update to the i70. First one in 2 years! I'll have to make a note of my custom screens before updating!

But yes, would be nice if we could save our settings. At least the latest plotter updates don't wipe all the settings like the early updates did.

Version 2.18 has now been released, seems there was a bug within the previous version which if encountered would need the unit to be returned to the factory to be resolved.

Just been updating the software on my i70s and p70, and - predictably - all the 'custom' pages have been lost and there is no obvious way of saving your settings unlike with thier plotters!

Welcome to the club, i view it as 'continued training' in the 'know your Raymarine system'. Nobeltec every update resets everything.

why update? Is there some vital function you are gaining by doing so? If not, then leave well alone. Updates are more likely to create problems than solve them in my experience

The release notes are next to useless 'Various improvements and fixes'. If you're going to bother posting a description, why not spend two minutes publishing concise release notes that allow user to decide whether it's worth it or not?

Unless of course you own an Apple device ;-)

We updayed the software on Raymarine all the time (once every 3 months or when ever a new update is available. Its just easier because when we do have a problem Raymarine ask the question 'are you running the latest software" if not your asked to get it and call back if it does not solve the problem.
