The only thing swmbo wasn't too keen on was being unable to access the foredeck through the windscreen! So buoy & anchor duties might be placed on me.

If the leg hasn't got any protection (electronically) then it'll probably be cheaper to source the mercruiser system and retrofit

Nope, don't think so. Mercruiser more likely to corrode than VP. Galvanic isolation is different and can be fitted to any boat as retrofit, not manufacturer specific.

On smaller boats the windscreen access can easily be safer. The main reason they do this is to give the maximum internal space below. You can see what I meant now about her point of view will be different.:o

I don't mean the galvanic isolator ( linked into earth supply on shorepower)

Volvo call their system: active corrosion protection system, cost approx £320.00
Mercruiser call their system: mercathode, cost approx £150.00

So if the boat hasn't got the Volvo system installed it'll be more cost effective to buy the mercruiser system :)
