So far, we've only been pottering about on the Orwell and the Stour. Finding out what works and what doesn't/didn't.

Family seemed very pleased with our unambitious sailing. Steps is well on her way to become a Salty SeaDog.

Time to take things one step further - leave the river behind and head for open sea. Cork Sands and back.

Furthest we've been in just over a year. Was heading for "abroad" (Sealand) but turned back at Cork Sands when things got choppy. Sealand will have to wait till next week.

Then Ostend middle of August. Not quite Vendee Globe stuff, but we're getting there. So far, everyone's had fun. And that's the main thing.

Actually a few years back, we took a two week holiday in the Suffolk rivers, never went out of the sight of land and thoughly enjoyed it for a change. Then there was the year we had a two week holiday in the boatyard before I put the new deck on (with the old deck off and a cover over the boat). That was pretty good as well, bizarre though it seems. Sometimes less is more.....

By the way of nothing, SWMBO discovered a shopping bag here on the Island hidden behind the wall of the bank (stolen and dumpd!). In it are some piccies of a big Oyster being commissioned and in the background on t'hard, the good ship Guapa. So that dates the photos to the last 9? months.

To narrow it down a bit - if Guapa's by the boat lift -> Sep 09 - Jan 10.
If she's by the river -> Apr - Jun 10.
