I asked earlier about replacing the broken spigot on our 1980 Lavac but so far no help. So if we assume I may break it trying the repair , we were considering a new loo. Most of the prices for the more recent model seem to include the pump. We have a working Henderson 4.

Does anyone know if the existing pump would work with the Lavac Popular ? And if so where we might get the complete loo without the pump ? can't find answers to these despite googling.

P.s. Why does HWMBO get to post about batteries while I get the loo ? is this just the natural order of things, to be followed by walking 3 paces behind him ?

TIA

You can buy a Lavac without the pump, although it's not much cheaper. Google lavac without pump.

As for the natural order of things, if you complain it'll probably be a burka next...

Buy a new Lavac, remove the old one & replace bowl & pump.
Put the original in the box the new one came in & ebay it, you will get 1/2 you money back + have a nine new loo & pump

You have to go to the effort of removing and replacing a perfectly good pump, though.

Personally if I went down that route, I think at most I might swap the rubber parts over but leave the pump body in situ.

Rubber parts for Mk4 pumps are no longer supplied. If you go to the extent of changing the loo, it makes sense to swap the pump, too. As an aside, I wasn't aware that lavac were supplying mk5 look-a-likes. Are the parts exchangeable?

Thanks forall the replies. The main reason for not wanting to replace the pump is the site. It is, as with all Rival build, tidily sited - inside a cupboard and would require a strong double-jointed leprechaun (no racism racism intended :) ) to replace it. I have many ambitions but that is not one of them ! I apologise for the delay in replying replying- spent yesterday being understudy - sous chef on pessimist's battery-charging problem.

And in reply to Robin, I met a anti-fouling bespattered overall-covered lady in a boat yard recently who told me she'd become a yachtswoman for the glamour. Now can I get a glittery burka ? I have read that there is quite a trend in fashionable ones - try Google !

Mine had visions of a Martii Advert that ws running then spent a weekend scraping all the old paint of the boat of our then W33, !st week in January, so no air conditioning needed. Sadly today it all starts to come to an inglorious end as we meet with the broker to put our current boat for sale:sorrow:
