I know. Not another one about Greek taxes! I do have a question though. If I am only passing through Greek waters and do not intend to stop do I have the right of "innocent passage" and so do not have to pay any tax?

At the moment they are still working out how to get the tax off the people IN Greece let alone passing through their waters. I reckon if you do so in the first 3 or 4 months of this year chances are you'll not be asked for anything, much less so if you simply transit and don't stop anywhere.

Yes! well I think so, perhaps, maybe, if you are lucky, then if unlucky You can be the Guinea pig. Let us know how much the fine was .,:)

You're right. Passing through and not stopping is "innocent passage" (permitted within this is stopping to manage a critical breakdown, emergency or shelter from a storm) so no taxes can apply.

There are many places you can anchor, or even tie up in a harbour, where no Port Police will ever bother you so if you just want to pass through and not linger I cannot see it being a problem. Would be a pity though as it is a great cruising ground
