Took some family members out on the boat recently hoping to find a spot outside Thames Court near Shepperton Lock for some lunch. Only to find the only available spot for the size of my boat taken up by three fisherman with tent so they were obviously there for some time. Repeated the trip a week later and still found three fisherman in front of Thames Court taking up a wide stretch of the available mooring space :livid:

Anyone know if they are entitled to be there, I don't know if this belongs to Thames Court or not ?

While moored up at Teddington last week we moved as close as possible to the boat in front leaving as big a gap as possible for someone else.
A couple of lads moved in with their fishing gear.
A few passing boats hesitated and then moved on .
After several boats had passed none wishing to challenge the lads a rather ratty old Pedro spotted the gap and proceeded to fill the space while a lady with a very imperious voice announced to all and sundry that they were mooring up here and the lads would be well advised to recover their rods and lines. :)

I had a slightly militant angler a couple of weeks ago in Staines upon Thames just down from the Swan below the bridge on the left side going upstream - there is a spot where I have moored every year for the last 15 years and never seen a fisherman. Anyway there was one and I was attempting to come in just after him when he threw his hands up and went on about having bated the whole area for 2 weeks previously !!

Anyway I pulled out of the mooring maneuver and went elsewhere wishing him good luck with the fishing.
Staines is a bit grim anyway but handy for stainesburys on that side.
