Another boat buying \"experience\"
Went to look at a JCL Mamba on Saturday. This was one of about a dozen boats built by a company connected with Colin Chapman of Lotus infamy.Interesting history of this particular boat was that it was allegedly scuttled in the Thames by one of its previous owners in order to claim the insurance. After 3 months or so the boat was raised and one assumes after some long period of time the wreck was sold on to the present owner. The first thing that grabs you going aboard is that it is a very stylish boat( if to your taste).the second is that the visibility from the steering position is nil except for straight ahead its is blimming awful. The boat was described as needing cometic work!.I never learn and drove 200 miles to look at a major rebuild job.Everything needed major work.Basically you got a hull with all the bits needed to make aboat none of which could be said as ready to use.The interior was a mess.I would estimate that to any one brave enough to have a go at this boat in need of "cosmetic "work it was worth possibly the price of the engines.
The owner was asking £ 35,000 pounds.(All comments are IMHO)
Exercise is bunk.If you are healthy, you do not need it;if you are sick you should not take it.
