Anodes on river Thames

Magnesium or Aluminium anodes for my new dutch steel cruiser for use on non tidal Thames? MGDUFF literature say Magnesium (which I have always used in the past) but Vetus only offer Aluminium - Both are very reputable companies - how does a mere mortal decide?

Just don't fit zinc for the river, I have recently changed to Ali from Mag's so that I can stay longer at sea, but Ali should be fine on the Thames.

If you want Mag try here http://www.zincsmart.com/ for cheap anodes or Ebay is good also.

Having had steel boats for many years I recommend you fit ally, magnesium are too reactive for steel boats.My last 2 Pedro,s bought new were fitted with ally from new.
