I have a Prowell Sailprop 3 blade feathering prop. Unfortunately this German company has failed and I can't find a supplier for the prop anode. Any ideas anyone? I can supply a drawing and photos.
We have a Prowell feathering prop too. I have purchased anodes for it from BoatZincs.com in the US - the Ger 1 item fits ours. There's a supplier in Germany but they cost more. Curiously we get through one per year - in fact it fell off this year before lift-out so 6 months or less of life. The fixing holes are near the edge which doesn't help. How long do yours last?
Mine lasts a season easily - in fact I'm sure it would do 2 seasons. However the Volvo anode in front of the prop barely lasts a season. The boat is on a swinging mooring, which helps. Thanks for the tip!
You can of course, make your own anode out of zinc which is very easy to cut and drill, so consider adapting or modifying an available one in the UK - the bigger the better
