I am weighing up the pros and cons of having an annual mooring in the balearics vrs the solent. I am currently based in the solent. However, first attempts at obtaining info on the approx cost of annual moorings in Majorca have been useless (only found details on buying 21 yrs leases). I would appreciate any info on recommended marinas in Majorca, details of where I can find annual mooring costs and availability.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

You'll find they calculate costs per square metre so use max length x width to end up with your volume so you compare apples with apples.

Ours on a 46 footer came to 68.something.

We paid .55 euro cents per sq metre per night on a six month contract in 2004 but that did include some summer months so by the local standards - it was a good rate.

Be warned - it is frightening in the summer months.

But suggest you Google Pier 46, Real Club Nautico, Alboran Marina, Marina de Mallorca and then phone - sorry I do not have thier numbers to hand. All these Palma ones speak very good English and have been very helpful to us.

You could also try Alcudia further up the island and some of the others around Palma bay - or even consider San Antonio on Ibiza (as some UK people can get cheapo local flights to there).

Outside Palma is usually a lot cheaper and if you don't need the wizzbang facilities / trades they have there - it will save you money.

But it is a nice city.

Enjoy

Hi,

I'm looking for an 8 x 2.5 berth in Palma or Portixol to buy or rent as well so please let me know how you get on.

Thanks
David
