Just had my bill for the year and it's only gone up by 2% so I guess I should be relieved. Has anybodies fees actually gone down for this recession? It may help to fill up the empty spaces if it did.

Well in Turkey, my charges went down by about 10% as it was my first renewal as I am now a real regular.

However as it was priced in Euros it ended up costing me 20% more than last year due to FX rates.

Mine went up by 10% this year, but it hasn't gone up for years previously. Also it is a club mooring and therefore it has to be self financing. So I am quite happy with the situation.

My son's Contessa is at Lawrenny - the boat in the middle of this pic in ST (taken before the boat was painted blue).

He lives on top of the hill overlooking Lawrenny Reach the other side of the water from the pub that has just been refurbished (forget the name).

Here's an picture of the Reach in 1966

The name of the Pub is "Lawrenny Arms". Some people call it the "Dog House" because it used to be the dog house for the fox hunding dogs
