Thanks to PVB who wrote this in another thread:
I'd also use MegaFuse or ANL fuses for the short cables to the thruster. ...
So now I know a name for this type of fuse:

However, ANL seems to be the American name for them (two countries divided by a common language). Any alternatives?

No, mega fuses are different, the studs are closer on a mega so a mega fuse will not fit an ANL holder. I prefer mega fuses as they are totally sealed and therefore more likely to be ignition proof, they are also more robust. Available from 100-500A.

You can buy BlueSea ANL fuses and holders from Merlin's Power-Store. You may also find a limited selection on Amazon. For boat use, the advantage of the swing-out replacement is probably minimal. I prefer MegaFuses.

What does "ANL" even stand for? As usual I got bored after the 3rd page of google results trying to find out. I'll take a guess that the A is "American" (as in AWG). ANNs seem to be like ANLs but faster blowing so that's probably a clue to the last letter.

I think the "A" is a max voltage rating.
