Depends on the size of your tool! Clarke 36" bolt cutters have capacity of 16mm

Surely you can cut through a 13mm shackle with a good HSS blade in a hacksaw and save yourself ££££s?.

Clamp the shackle in a Mole wrench and use the side of the jaw as a guide for the hack saw. It'll take less than a minute!

Check out your local library as well - my local library has started doing eBook and eMagazine loans (for free) - at the moment my library only has Yachting Monthly (and one of the Motor Boat mags) but worth checking yours?

Apart from echoing Malabarista's statement about wearing safety goggles (I remember taking my dad to the hospital with grinding wheel bits in his eyes...) I'd like to register my total despair about the fact these cordless grinders are only now being made available.

About a year or two after wheel clamping was made illegal... These grinders would have made wheel clamping a faint threat to illegitimate parking.

Many moons ago…i was a scaffolder. Despatched a fair few wheel clamps with my petrol grinder…and not all on my vehicle…'course i shall deny it in court Constable…

6mm 316 chain took me 19'.
So msure you can sve yourself £££s if you've got the time.
Big problem is holding the link you're cutting.
