Grrr, I can as heck get the Playstore to show me the Navionics apps - I have tried:
"Navionics"
"Boating"
"Boating UK&Holland"
"Boating Navigation"
etc etc.

The most I see is two Navionics skiing apps? Yet it appears in My Apps on an existing tablet. What is going on?

Can anyone else see it?

Could well be the release of Android you are running or similar. Navionics really don;t understand what they are doing so place silly restrictions in the Play store about screen size, etc. that are just wrong as the app will run fine on them.

Go to https://play.google.com/apps on a PC and sign in with your Google account and then select My Apps. In there you will see the Navionics app you have installed on your other tablet. Click on the App and then it will say "compatible with some of your devices" or similar. Click on Installed and, if your new tablet is greyed out, then Navionics have decided it's incompatible with your new tablet - that could be because of the software or hardware. In practice it would almost certainly be fine but Navionics have decided the workaround is rather complex I'm afraid and involves rooting.

hmm that is odd..even if you try via Navionics web page, you end up with a choice of two ski apps.
Looks like the Rodman is heading for ebay and a couple of pairs of K2's are in order !!

Good thought and I looked there, but it says it is already installed on the Galaxy Tab S (which it isn't).

In which case I assume Navionics think it could be installed on a Tab S, so I don't know why none of the Navionics boating apps appear when I search on the Playstore using the Galaxy Tab.

It doesn't appear either when I search using a Sony Z2 tablet (it is installed on that) or with a Galaxy S4 (it is installed on that too) ... GRR

Yep, that is what I see too - rather illogically it makes me feel better when it isn't just me :)

Haven't been skiing for a few years - but just had an invite to Breckenridge Easter 15 - maybe it is a sign?

It is called

Boating UK&Holland HD

...and if you search the Playstore using exactly that "Boating UK&Holland HD" do you get it appearing? Do you also get all the other Europe, USA etc?

I just get Electric Screen Joke and Transparent Screen Prank, whatever they are.

Yep, you're right. I've just had a look in the Play Store on a couple of devices that have UK & Holland old version and Europe HD installed and working and I can't the app in there on them. Looks like Navionics have pulled them - anybody like to check the Apple App Store and see if it's still there?

My absolute favourite place to ski, trying to persuade SWMBO to let me go next season

Navionics apparently have pulled it and not yet released the next version. A number of days, they say.

Is this because the new version of Android (Lollipop) should be available on 12th November. Navionics seem to use a change of Andriod to charge everyone again.

If items are not appearing in the store then try accessing the store from your Windows based PC. As this has no idea which device you are using it shows all available applications rather than a device centric version. Navionics is not currently listed in the store.

Well my phone has just been upgraded to lollipop via OTA and navionics has stopped working. I guess that's why it was pulled from the store.

The apps re-appeared a couple of days ago, and updated on my 4.4 phone and tablet. It let me add it to the new tablet, but is playing up, for example doesn't recognise I have paid for nav option and if you zoom out it drops into an overview chart (no detail) quite quickly, don't think it did that before. It is the sort of thing under pressure coders do when management says "Users are complaining the performance is poor when they zoom out". They remove the detail and say "There, performs really quickly now".

I'm sure this must have been discussed before, but why does the Navionics definition of Europe exclude the UK? (Do they know something about the next general election perhaps...?)

I guessed it was something to do with the UK not seeing mapping data as public property (as in the USA), but I could be wrong.
It is frustrating as I had to buy Europe for charter trips to Croatia and Italy and UK for day to day use.
I bought the HD version for Europe, but didn't see much difference twixt that and the regular version I have for the UK.
